I have a confession to make. I call myself a foodie sometimes and I practically live opposite Damansara Uptown.. but this is my first time trying Miru. *shy*
See, I usually wait a little bit until the hype goes away, but it kind of didn't happen with Miru. Yessss the crowd was less scary but it's still usually quite packed. This got my curiosity sky high but it wasn't until my friend asked me to go that I finally went. And yeah guess what, it was full. The place was simple, comfortable, brightly lit and best of all everyone was all smiles. =D
(must be the food! Yes I was excited!)
*Dum dum dum*
Us being us, we ordered their signature. The first impression of my Shibuya Honey Toast was - Hoh mah gawd 2 scoops of ice cream! *god job* The toast was thick, I mean really thick and we poured honey all over it, so I was worried we would have trouble finishing it until I took the first bite. *insert satisfied face* It was warm yet cold. Lightly crisp yet fluffy. It's like they hid a fluffy-compressed-fresh-from-the-oven-buttery-cloud into a thin crispy pastry shell. *And then it rained honey!* This was surprisingly good and not too fast too filling.
When the two-tone Kakigori arrived, I was almost too afraid to try it in case it "masks my Shibuya Toast high" ...but I gotta be responsible if I'm going to write about it so yeah. I can't decide if I prefer the Horlicks or Milo side but they do go well together. I was alternating between the slightly salty Horlicks and the so so sweet Milo. The ice was nice and fine. This is definitely good to have on a warm day but personally I would stick to their toasts. Not that it didn't taste good though. However, do not try to take this one alone, after all sharing is caring.
Verdict: Guilty indulgences but good for the soul
