Hagi Japanese Cuisine @ TTDI
Hagi Japanese lets you indulge in a traditional fine Japanese dining experience right at TTDI, Kuala Lumpur. Here you can opt to dine Omakase (chef's selection) style! Leave your meal in the hands of the chefs while you sit back, relax and get ready to be impressed.
Besides being surprised with the best menu the restaurant has to offer at that time, this way you get to try a larger variety by sampling a little bit of everything.
Chef chose to start with a Peeled Tomato sprinkled with Bamboo Charcoal Salt. A light and appetising dish to tease the palate and get you excited for more.
Followed by the rare delicacy called Shirako which is cod fish's milt. Shirako has a very smooth, creamy texture similar to custard and a slight briny flavour. The Japanese believes that it promotes anti-aging and is full of Vitamin B!
Next dish was Kampachi and Toro Sashimi. The fish here is of fresh premium quality and tastes lovely!
The Kampung Chicken Thigh served with Raw Egg and Japanese Peper mixed with Citrus is grilled to perfection. I savoured mine dipping into the raw egg as it gives the chicken a mildly flavoured but luscious coating.
Monk Fish Chawanmushi is my new favourite chawanmushi. The monk fish makes the steamed egg extra delicious by giving it a rich umami flavour that melts in your mouth.
One of their signature dishes, the Hagi Special Somen is served cold and eaten using frozen cutlery. The bouncy texture of the somen noodle was the highlight for me and serving it cold makes it a very refreshing dish.
They serve a pretty wide range of quality imported seafood ranging from Akami, Otoro, Kawahagi, Madai, Itoyori, Salmon Fish Roe and many more.
You will notice the nigiri here glows in a slightly reddish tint as the sushi rice here is mixed with red vinegar. It's a premium type vinegar with a deep rich flavour used traditionally to further complement the fish.
The meal is much more splendid when paired with a smooth and delicious Sake served either cold or warm.
Or if you prefer, enjoy some nice cold Suntory Beer with friends over a chat. It's especially satisfying after a long hot day!
Choose to be seated at the bar so you can have fun watching the chef prepare your food and be served straight!
Be seated at group tables to socialise easily or private rooms are available as well to accommodate larger groups.
Besides offering good food, the restaurant is beautifully decorated too! Don't forget to snap some photos with the awesome picture-worthy feature wall before you leave.
Overall, it was great experience and the food was enjoyable!
Give them a try if you're a fan of Japanese food or would love to try Omakase dining!
